Layer the Bowl™ Nutrition Support was created to help families improve the food they are already feeding with practical, realistic, whole-food steps. Sometimes the first step is not replacing the entire bowl. Sometimes the first step is adding moisture, improving protein quality, choosing better toppers, supporting digestion, or learning which upgrades matter most for that specific dog.
We meet families where they are.
Then we help them build forward.

Adding appropriate moisture can help make meals more satisfying and support normal hydration.
Thoughtful toppers may include dog-appropriate whole foods, proteins, healthy fats, fiber sources, and nutrient-rich additions.
Some dogs may benefit from carefully selected prebiotic, probiotic, or fermented-food support when appropriate.
Food choices, fatty acids, protein quality, and overall nutrition can all play a role in supporting normal skin and coat health.
For dogs with sensitive systems, changes should be made slowly, thoughtfully, and with attention to stool, comfort, energy, and veterinary guidance when needed.
Families do not have to do everything at once. Small improvements can still matter.

Our goal is to help people make the best choices they can with the resources they have, while building access to better food support through scholarships, sponsorships, and nonprofit nutrition programs.
The Bigger Mission
Layer the Bowl™ Nutrition Support is part of the larger Loved Dog™ Food Stewardship Project, which researches food, manufacturers, ingredients, safety practices, microbiome support, and real-world dog outcomes.
Bunny Loving Tree Hugger™ focuses on the whole-food, botanical, nature-based, and practical education side of that mission.
Sponsor-a-Bowl™
Some families need help improving their dog's nutrition.
Some supporters want to help.
Through the Sponsor-a-Bowl™ and Food Scholarship pathways, sponsors may help low-income families, service dogs in training, rescue and transition dogs, puppies in development, or food research and education.
Net proceeds from participating pathways help support nonprofit canine nutrition education, food scholarships, and research-minded dog care resources.
